RACE RULES

WANT TO RACE?

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

ANYONE CAN RACE

that is the most important thing

You don't need to be an olympian, a budding 4 minute specialist or even a member of a running club. What you need are 3 friends who would like a night of challenge and fun.

here's what you do

grab your friend, boyfriend, partner, wife, husband, significant other, reluctant passer-by, and then press-gang or bribe 2 others into thinking that they can manage a mile. It's only a mile each, how hard can it be?

WHAT ARE THE GOODIES?

yes you'll get a medal :)

there are special commemorative medals for everyone who races in the British mile relays.

In addition in each age group there are prizes for the fastest teams and the fastest Female and Male legs in each age group

If any team sets a new English record (currently held by Wirral AC at 19:47) they will receive unique boxed medals and the Leo Carroll Trophy

THE SMALL PRINT

you run for each other

the key point is that men and women run for each other. You can choose to run for a club, for your work, for a charity or anything else you choose, but you pick your own team.

You can call your team anything you like (within reason!), but you cannot use the name of a running club unless you are all members of that club. In addition if one of your team is registered member of England Athletics, you will receive a £2 discount on your team entry.
